Portland real estate market report for October 2013

market report iconListing inventory is up but even though the Portland real estate market  remains steady and strong, worries continue about the impact of the Federal shut down on financing. I am seeing convention financing with larger down payments moving along with no hitch, but FHA or VA financing may see some delays. In my own business, I am seeing buyers who are searching for discounts from the sales prices on both the floating home market and also on the real estate side of things. People are watching their finances closely; staying out of the jumbo markets and trying to get the best possible home for their money (for the least amount of price). Nervous sellers, who are watching that shut down news, seem reluctant but willing to negotiate even on well priced homes. Call me if you would like additional information!
